Paula Patton (born in 1960) is an American actress. She has also directed films, including Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol. She was born into a middle-class household living in Los Angeles, she harboured big dreams as a child. Her mom was obsessed with films and instilled the love of movies in the girl. Paula loved participating in school co-curricular activities and drama was her favorite. Paula loved acting with friends and was a part of school productions. She was a part of numerous high school plays at Hamilton Magnet Arts High School and decided to pursue acting as a career. She was a student at in the University of Southern California for the Summer Program, and she loved it. The program awarded her a 3-month contract producing documentaries on behalf of PBS. Following the successful completion of the assignment, she began being an assistant in the production of TV documentaries. Then she began producing documentaries. The work was enjoyable however, she always wanted to be an actor. The path to acting began when she had an unimportant role with Will Smith in the romantic comedy Hitch. She has appeared since in many films and TV series.
